Mommy took me swimming today which is pretty much my favorite thing in the universe! There was a nice lifeguard at the pool who was a baby swim teacher. She told Mommy that I was big enough to put my ENTIRE head in the water for the first time. She said to blow on my face so I would pucker up and then dunk me quickly. She said it was also important to cheer for me when I come up so that I know that I am supposed to like the sensation of being under water. I did pretty well and didn't cry at all! I also did some major leg kicking which Mommy was very proud of. I still have no interest in crawling outside of the water though. Why bother with that when I can learn how to walk instead? Mommy read some study that says I will have more trouble with Math if I don't crawl first, but she is not too worried about it. Plus, I think she is secretly happy that she can still put me down and turn her back for at least a couple minutes. Not too long though 'cause I am very good at scooting on my back. Especially when I am near a couch that I can fit under. Then I can scoot and hide from Mommy and Adda. That is probably my best trick so far!
Back to swimming. The kids changing room can be a great place to learn parenting tips, just by watching to see what others do. Mommy learned to always feed your kid immediately after swimming, have a change of something warm and cozy to wear and wait until the last minute to put on the swim diaper. Things have been going better since my Mom started doing these things. She also came up with the plan of getting me all changed and giving me a bottle, then rolling my stroller over near the showers so that I can eat while she takes a nice, warm shower. We get a lot of compliments on that trick so Im glad we are allowed to bring my stroller in, at least until I learn how to walk...

Willkommen, beinvenue, welcome!
Dear Friends and Family:
My Mama and Adda (what I call daddy) suggested that I start a blog since I will be traveling a lot later this year and you all might be interested in hearing about my adventures. My parents and I will be going on a 2 month adventure in November and December of this year. We will start by spending 5 days in Chicago (where Mommy went to grad school). She said she would take me to campus so I can see her old stomping ground. Then we will be spending 6 weeks in Europe, based out of an awesome city called Grenoble in the foothills of the french alps. We will be spending a lot of time there and will also do a couple road trips. On the way home, we will stop in DC to see my Grandma and Grandpa Ford, my cousin Annabelle and some more of Mommy and Addas friends, including a new baby who will be born in September! My parents will be doing a house swap so they will be staying in someones house and he will be here in the states staying in our house. Based on what our swap partner has shown us, it looks like he has an amazing property and he is so nice. He knows some babies about a year older then me and they have loaned us a high chair and pack n play and some other cool gear. We are all very excited but also a little nervous as Mommy and Adda have never been away from home for more than 2 weeks before.
